Elevator chains are integral to the operation of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems, facilitating the movement of people and goods between different floors or levels within buildings and structures. These chains are meticulously designed and manufactured to meet stringent performance and safety standards, ensuring reliable and efficient vertical transport.
One of the primary features of elevator chains is their high-strength construction, which enables them to support heavy loads while maintaining structural integrity. The links of the chain are precisely engineered to minimize friction and wear, ensuring smooth and quiet operation over prolonged periods of use. Additionally, elevator chains are often equipped with specialized attachments or fittings to securely engage with elevator cabs or platforms, providing safe and reliable lifting and lowering motions.
In addition to their robust construction, elevator chains undergo rigorous testing and quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This includes testing for load capacity, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance, among other factors, to guarantee optimal performance and longevity.
Furthermore, elevator chains are designed with safety features such as overload protection mechanisms and emergency braking systems to prevent accidents and ensure passenger safety. These safety measures, combined with the reliability and efficiency of elevator chains, make them indispensable components in vertical transportation systems worldwide.
Unisol Industries has been successfully used in elevator applications for many years and experience has shown that for most applications, chains derived from the standard product line are more than adequate. Our main products are, Recycled Chain, ER102B, ER111, ER856, ER857, ER859, ER956, NE150, M112 and many more.
Includes fillet welded K attachments to provide additional joint strength and smaller than standard cog rollers to reduce weight, which is necessary to produce wear-resistant and long-lasting chains. Special heavy duty chains can be produced when the chain is used in abrasive and/or corrosive conditions.
Bucket ElevatorThe chain is supplied with fillet welded K attachments for dynamic discharge (centrifugal) elevators and G attachments for positive discharge elevators. Design details for each type of elevator can be found in the downloadable design guide.
When dealing with certain aggressive materials, it is sometimes necessary to modify the design, material or heat treatment of the chain, in which case we recommend consulting a UniISO application engineer before specifying the chain.
