Drop-Forged Suspension Chains
All drop-forged suspension chains are commonly used in overhead conveyor systems and automated material handling systems.
Drop-forged suspension chains offer increased flexibility.
All chain components are heat treated for increased durability and longer chain life.
Precise pitch control and smooth bearing areas provide optimum wear life.
Drop-Forged Suspension Chains
Die Forged Suspension Chain is widely used on trolley conveyors, drag conveyors and flight conveyors. It is the ideal chain for these applications because of its high strength-to-weight ratio, ability to flex in both horizontal and vertical planes, and the overall simplicity of the chain, which consists of three components that can be assembled and disassembled by hand without tools.
Chains basically come in two patterns, regular and X-pattern. Regular pattern chains are typically used on heavier drag and flight conveyors that convey material that tends to build up in the chain joints. x-pattern chains are now widely used on suspended trolley conveyors and are designed to provide increased chain strength and the ability to bend laterally within a small radius. x-pattern chains are available in sizes 348, 458, and 678, and h-patterns are available in sizes 698, 9118.100.160. The H-type is 698, 9118.100.160.
The quality control program includes the following:
- Raw material analysis is received together with the steel supplier's certificate.
- Periodic dimensional checks
- Pitch tolerances are checked every 1000 meters.
- Hardness check on 1 out of 1000 parts.
- Crack test on every sample batch.
Crack detection with 100% magnetic flux is available on request.
