Common rail is a high-pressure injection system widely used in diesel engines. It consists of a high-pressure pump, a high-pressure common rail pipe, fuel injectors and so on. The high-pressure pump is responsible for pressurizing the fuel and transmitting the high-pressure fuel to the injector through the high-pressure common rail pipe. The injector controls the time and volume of fuel injection through a solenoid valve according to the instruction from the engine control unit.
Compared with the traditional injection system, common rail has several advantages. First, the Common Rail system can supply fuel to the injectors at a very high pressure, resulting in a finer spray and higher combustion efficiency. Secondly, the Common Rail system is able to realize multiple injections, which improves the control of the combustion process and reduces emissions. In addition, the high-pressure common rail system also has a lower noise and vibration level, which enhances the comfort of the engine.
The application of Common Rail technology not only enhances the performance of diesel engines, but also meets environmental requirements. It achieves higher combustion efficiency and lower exhaust emissions by precisely controlling the injection time and volume. Therefore, high-pressure common rail system is widely used in automobile, ship, construction machinery and other fields, becoming one of the key technologies of modern diesel engines.
